AOC responsibilities to students

AOC has responsibilities to you as a student to provide you with a quality of service that will assist you as much as possible in attaining your course certitificate. We undertake to abide by all our policies and procedures – and we have provided information on these policies below.

Student Responsibilities

Students with AOC are required to:

  • Ensure that all the information provided to AOC is accurate
  • Notify AOC of any contact changes (email, telephone, address etc.)
  • Advise AOC of any difficulties or problems they may experience with AOC staff, procedures or training
  • Achieve satisfactory progress with their studies through participation and completion of assessments
  • NOT submit or claim as their own, work derived from other source or work completed by another person

 

Enrolment Procedures and Policies

In the context of these policies, a course can refer to a qualification, module, chapter and/or unit which all abide by the same policies and procedures as indicated by AOC.

1. Terms and Conditions. Upon payment of the course fees, you consent and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions herein. You agree to pay all course fees before receiving access to our courses. In return, we agree to supply you with the Student Learning Materials and make available to you our Student Administration Department to assist you with administrative matters.

2. Student Learning Materials. The Student Learning Materials that will be supplied are for your use only and are copyrighted. Reproduction or distribution in any form or by any means without the prior permission of the publisher is prohibited. Student Learning Materials are supplied once you have paid the course fees in full.

3. Refund Policy. As students have immediate access to all Student Learning Materials upon paying for their course fees in full, refunds will not be available. See detailed Refund Policy below.

4. Time Limits. All courses have a twelve (12) month time limit within which to complete the course. As all courses are self-paced, students may set their own timetable for completing the course; however, some courses may outline a recommended course schedule for convenience.

6. Age Requirements. If you are under 18 years of age, please ensure your parent or guardian accepts the terms and conditions of this enrolment application. Please contact admin@australianonlinecourses.com to receive a Parent/Guardian Consent Form.

7. Invoices. If you wish to receive an Invoice, this may be arranged by contacting our Student Administration Department.

8. Email content and testimonials. Upon enrolment into the course, we may use the content from your emails in our marketing materials and on our website testimonials page. Your identity will never be revealed, however we will use your initials and your City. Please be assured that we respect your privacy and only comments related to course outcomes and student experiences will be mentioned.

Enrolment Checklist

Read the program information before you enrol to ensure you:

  • Have determined the learning outcomes meet your needs
  • Can follow the order of study and assessment requirements outlined in the program
  • Have the minimum requirements for computer/internet access
  • Have read both the Enrolment Terms and Conditions and Payment Plans Terms and Conditions. See below.

Payment Information

Applicants must pay in advance for each course.
At AOC, we currently accept payments via PayPal. This ensures that students have instant access to the course materials.

Payment Plan TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The AOC Payment Plan is available for all courses.

By making a deposit, you are agreeing upon the following terms and conditions.

1. Minimum deposit is $100
2. All payments must be finalised within six (6) weeks from the date of deposit.  
3. Payments must be made weekly or fortnightly, in equal instalments.
4. Not more than two (2) weeks may elapse between payments.
5. There are NO cash refunds on Payment Plan deposits and payments.
6. Upon cancellation, the deposit paid by the customer will be lost and not refunded. Any remaining payments can be spent on any other courses on offer at Australian Online Courses. You will receive a “Credit Voucher”. This credit is valid for twelve (12) months.
7. If any of the above terms and conditions is not met “Australian Online Courses” reserve the right to terminate the Payment Plan and the same terms that apply to a cancellation will be issued.

Refund Policy

Cancellation of course
Should AOC cancel a course for any reason, students enrolled at the time AOC announces the cancellation will be entitled to a full refund, and this will incur no administrative charges or penalties.
Withdrawal after enrolment
Once students have enrolled and accessed the course materials, students will not be able to receive a refund if a student simply changes their mind or makes a wrong decision. If a student is suffering from illness or other documented traumatic event AOC will issue a credit voucher which is valid for use for twelve (12) months. Students suffering genuine illness or trauma will need to apply for a credit voucher within five (5) working days from the initial enrolment date. Course Extension Policy

AOC will not be obliged under any circumstances to extend the period of a student’s enrolment if the student has not completed the program/course in the allocated time. However, once the allocated time for a given program/course has ended and a student would like to complete the requisite assessments, (up to 2 months past the initial enrolment date), then students will need to contact Administration to arrange an extension.

 

Appeals Policy

Any decision of Not Yet Competent on a student’s assessment tasks or course outcomes can be discussed with the AOC tutors either by phone or email. If the outcome or decision is still unsatisfactory to the student they have the right to formalise their case as per the following methods.
Re-Assessment Appeal
A student has the ability to submit any assessment task two (2) times.
If a student does not agree with the decision of a Not Yet Competent, they must appeal within 28 days from the result of assessment advised by AOC.

AOC Code of Practice

 Legislative Requirements
AOC Online Training will meet all legislative requirements of State and Federal Government. In particular, Workplace Health and Safety and Workplace Relations.

 Access and Equity
AOC Online Training has a policy of equal access to training for all people seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills. In particular, AOC encourages the participation of women, indigenous people, people with physical or learning disabilities and those who live in remote areas.

Quality Management Focus
AOC Online Training has a commitment to providing a quality service and a focus on continuous improvement. We value feedback from trainees, staff and employers for incorporation into future programs.

Client Service
We have sounds management practices to ensure effective client service. In particular, we have client service standards to ensure timely issue of trainee assessment, results and qualifications. These will be appropriate to competence achieved and issued in accordance with organisational guidelines.

Management and Administration
AOC Online Training has policies and management strategies, which ensure sound financial and administrative practices. Management guarantees the organisation’s sound financial position and safeguards student’s fees until used for training/assessment. Student records are managed securely and confidentially.

Marketing and Advertising
AOC Online Training markets our training courses and products with integrity, accuracy and professionalism, avoiding vague and ambiguous statements. In the provision of information, no false or misleading comparisons are drawn with any other training organisation or training product.

Best Practice Standards
AOC will ensure it is up to date with Best Practice Standards by encouraging all staff to attend industry network meetings and to seek and accept feedback via these networks. Through regular staff meetings, AOC will ensure it is constantly reviewing literature, technology and methods in order to keep abreast of developments relevant to both the services provided by AOC and the industries of its clients.

Timelines for issues of qualifications and results
AOC will provide clients with the results of their assessment within 21 days of the completion of their program, unless an appeal against assessment has been lodged. Qualifications will be issued within 21 days of the issue of their results unless an appeal against assessment has been lodged.
Appeals lodged against assessments must be made within 14 days of receiving the assessment results. AOC staff will examine these appeals and a result of the appeal will be provided to the client within 14 days of the day of the lodgement of the appeal.

Student Welfare Service
AOC Online Training will provide counselling and support to clients experiencing difficulties with studies. In circumstances where clients require specialised assistance outside the expertise of AOC, we shall provide referral to agencies that can support these clients’ needs. Course Advisers are available for first counselling contact.
